Before Antietam

A 20 year old box maker from Winchendon, he enlisted as Private in Company B, 15th Massachusetts Infantry on 12 July 1861.

On the Campaign

He was wounded and reported missing in action on 17 September 1862 at Antietam.

The rest of the War

He returned to his Company 19 December 1862. He was again missing in action, at Gettysburg, PA on 2-3 July 1863. He was captured in action 22 June 1864 at Petersburg, VA and paroled on 25 June. He mustered out of service on 28 July 1864.
