Before Antietam
Age 21, a shoemaker or operative from Worcester, mustered as a Privste in Company D, 15th Massachusetts Infantry on 31 January 1862.
On the Campaign
He was reported missing in action on 17 September 1862, but had been wounded and captured at Antietam.
The rest of the War
By 15 October he was a paroled prisoner in camp at Annapolis, MD. He was exchanged, date not given, but could not return to duty. He was discharged for disability on 26 March 1863 in Boston.
After the War
He lived in Worcester County, MA for the rest of his life. He died of a broken spine at age 46 in 1887.
