Age 28, a yeoman from Blackstone, he enlisted in Company K, 15th Massachusetts Infantry on 1 July 1861.
On the Campaign
He was reported missing in action at Antietam on 17 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He was reported missing in action again at Gettysburg, PA in July 1863. Wounded in May 1864, discharged for disability on 22 October 1864.
