On the Campaign
He was killed in action on 14 September 1862.
The State roster says he was wounded sometime in September 1862, and deserted at South Mountain. The War Department changed Pvt. Geibers' status to "Missing in Action". Lt. Marston of his Company stated that Geiber was with the company on September 14, at South Mountain and "with us in line." Later he says "it is my belief that he was killed in that battle".
