On the Campaign

He was wounded and captured in action on 17 September 1862 at Sharpsburg.

The rest of the War

He was confined at Fort McHenry, MD until exchanged at Aiken's Landing, VA on 19 October 1862. He was again wounded, in action on 16 May 1863. He was present or accounted for through December 1864.
