Before Antietam

In 1860 he was a 41 year old farmer in Winslow, ME. He gave his age as 35 when he enlisted on 13 December 1861, and he mustered as a Private in Company F, 7th Maine Infantry on 23 January 1862.

On the Campaign

He was wounded in the hand in action at Antietam on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was discharged for disability due to wounds on 19 March 1863.

After the War

By 1870 he was a laborer in Augusta, ME, and in 1880 he was a farm worker in Benton, ME.
