On the Campaign

He was appointed 4th Sergeant on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was 3rd Sergeant when he was captured at Fisher's Hill, VA on 22 September 1864 and was a prisoner at Point Lookout, MD by 1 October. He was admitted to the post hospital with chronic diarrhea on 26 January 1865 and died there on 9 February 1865.
