He was wounded in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was captured at Spotsylvania Court House, VA on 19 May 1864 and a prisoner at Elmira, NY until transferred to James River, VA for exchange on 10 March 1865.

After the War

In 1880 he was a farmer in Sumter County, GA, but moved to Sumter County, FL in December 1881.
