He was wounded in the right shoulder in action on 17 September 1862 at Antietam.

The rest of the War

He was discharged for wounds at the US Army General Hospital, Frederick, MD on 15 January 1863.

After the War

He was first granted a Federal pension in June 1866 (#65594) and was drawing it at least as late as 1883, then living in Newark, NJ.
