He enlisted in Company B, 13th New Jersey Infantry on 13 August 1862 and mustered as Private on 25 August.
On the Campaign
He was listed as a deserter on 12 September 1862 in Maryland.
The rest of the War
He returned to duty 28 November 1862. He was discharged at Harpers Ferry, VA on 16 March 1863 for disability.
