He enlisted in Company G, 13th New Jersey Infantry on 9 August 1862 and mustered as Private on 25 August.
On the Campaign
He was listed as a deserter on 10 September 1862 in Maryland.
The rest of the War
He returned to duty on 20 May 1863. He was discharged at the US Army General Hospital, Newark, NJ on 22 August 1863 on disability.
