On the Campaign

He was wounded in action on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was promoted to Major on 27 March 1864. He was wounded again, in action at Mill Creek Gap, GA on May 8, and was appointed Lieutenant Colonel on 9 August 1864. He mustered out with the Regiment on 18 July 1865.
