On the Campaign

He was wounded in the face in action on 17 September 1862 at Antietam.

The rest of the War

He was treated at the Locust Spring Hospital at Sharpsburg. He was detailed to scout duty 14 April 1864. Promoted Corporal 18 November 1864, to Sergeant 9 March 1865, reduced to Private 13 April 1865. Mustered out with his Company 26 July 1865.
