Before Antietam

He enlisted at age 19 and mustered as a Private in Company D, 108th New York Infantry on 11 August 1862.

On the Campaign

He was with his Company at Anteitam on 17 Setpember 1862.

The rest of the War

He was wounded on 3 May 1863 at Chancellorsville, VA and later transferred to Company B, 20th Regiment, Veteran Reserve Corps. He served with them in medical and army headquarters jobs in at Washington, DC, until he was discharged there on 19 June 1865.
