Before Antietam
From Waterbury, he had prior service as Private, Company F, 8th Connecticut Infantry. From August 1862 he was in Company C, 14th Connecticut Infantry.
On the Campaign
He was wounded in action on 17 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He deserted from the 14th on 14 December 1864.
