Before Antietam
A student at Wesleyan University and militia soldier in Middletown, CT at the start of the War. He mustered as 2nd Lieutenant, Company K, 14th Connecticut Infantry on 20 August 1862.
On the Campaign
He was mortally wounded in action on 17 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He died of wounds on 23 October 1862 at his parents home in Middle Haddam, CT.
