Before Antietam

From Hartford, he enlisted as a Corporal in Company K, 14th Connecticut Infantry on 5 August 1862.

On the Campaign

He was mortally wounded in action at Antietam on 17 September 1962.

The rest of the War

He was admitted to a US Army hospital in Frederick, MD on 28 September but died there of wounds and disease on 6 (or 10) October 1862.

After the War

He was originally buried in Frederick but was reinterred in the new Antietam National Cemetery in about 1867.
