He enlisted in Company L, 6th Alabama Infantry in Corinth, MS on 2 June 1861. He was promoted to Jr. 2nd Lieutenant, and the company reorganized as Company G, both probably in March 1862.

On the Campaign

He was killed in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.
