Before Sharpsburg
In 1860 he was a 26 year old farmer with 6 slaves at Greensboro in Guilford County, NC. He enlisted on 12 April 1862 at Kinston, NC and mustered as Private, Company B, 27th North Carolina Infantry.
On the Campaign
He was wounded in the side in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He was killed in action at Bristoe Station, VA on 14 October 1863.
