Before Sharpsburg

Age 20, from Muscogee County, he mustered as Private, Company G, 2nd Georgia Infantry on 16 April 1861 and discharged on 14 October and commissioned Major, 31st Georgia Infantry. He was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel on 1 June 1862.

On the Campaign

The Regiment remained at Harpers Ferry on September 17th following the surrender to guard the stores and parole Federal prisoners. Official Records to not specify who the 35th's Commander was on the campaign, but it was most likely Lieutenant Colonel Holt.

The rest of the War

He was promoted to Colonel on 1 November 1862 and surrendered 9 April 1865 at Appomattox Court House, VA.

After the War

He died young, age 26, only two years after the war.
