Before Antietam
From Milwaukee, he enlisted in Company F, 6th Wisconsin Infantry on 15 May 1861.
On the Campaign
He was wounded in action on 17 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He was wounded again in action at Gettysburg, PA in July 1863, and on 6 May 1864 (probably in the Wilderness, VA). Discharged for disability on 17 June 1865.
