Unit history
The Battery was formed in New York City in May 1861, and was first Captained by Capt Thaddeus P Mott, who resigned in July 1862. In June of that year Lt WIlliam Stuart was promoted to Captain, and assumed command. After Capt Stuart was dismissed in April 1863, Capt William A Harn succeeded, and remained in command until the unit mustered out of service in June 1865.
