An 18 year old stock keeper in Gonzales County, he enlisted there as a Private in Company A, 4th Texas Infantry on 18 March 1862.

On the Campaign

He was with his Company in action at Fox's Gap on South Mountain on 14 September and was listed initially as wounded and missing at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862, but as "supposed to have been killed" in February 1863 with no further record.
