Before Sharpsburg
In 1860 he was a 19 year old planter living with his parents, maternal grandparents, and 4 younger siblings on the family place at Holmesville in Pike County, MS. He enlisted as a Private in Company E, 16th Mississippi Infantry on 24 or 27 July 1861 in Lynchburg, VA.
On the Campaign
He was killed in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.
