Going by Alvis, in 1860 he was a 27 year old farmer with a small place in Montgomery County, NC. He was conscripted there on 16 July 1862 and mustered as a Private in Company K, 14th North Carolina Infantry.

On the Campaign

He was sent to a hospital in Frederick, MD by 12 September, left behind, and captured there.

The rest of the War

He died in US Army General Hospital #1 in Frederick, MD on 20 September 1862.

His widow Disey (Disa) filed a claim for his final pay in June 1863.
