   Morell's Division encamped in the fields about 300 yards to the southwest of this point at about noon on September 16.

At 8 A.M. of the 17th it relieved Richardson's Division of the Second Corps, on the right of the Boonsboro Pike, and formed in support of the Artillery on the ridge in front of the Antietam.

Location: north side of the Boonsboro Pike, about 300 yards northeast of the Middle Bridge (Map 5)
