Unit history

Organized at Baltimore and Pikesville, Md., in September and October, 1861, to serve three years, Battery B was originally a part of the Purnell Legion.

They were sent to the eastern shore of Virginia in the latter part of the year of 1861. In the summer of 1862, Battery B was sent to the Army of the Potomac, then on the Peninsula.
