On the Antietam Campaign

They were transferred from the First to the Second Brigade of the Fist Division on 16 September 1862.1

Colonel William M. Fenton was not with his regiment on the Maryland Campaign. He'd been in Michigan recruiting in August, reported back to Washington DC on 15 September, was at Relay House on the 20th, and Frederick soon after. He camped with the 20th Michigan at Boonsboro (?) on the 22nd and rejoined his regiment and took command on 23 September. He was put in command of the brigade on the 24th.2
